A beautifully designed boutique residential building in the heart of Chatswood consisting of 32 apartments. 18 at Chatswood is a Multi-Residential high-rise comprised of 7 storeys of residential units (exclusive selection of one and two-bedroom apartments as well as three-bedroom penthouses and two levels of parking. The design had to address particular challenges due to the topography of the terrain which forms a gully between Eddy Road to the north and Freeman Road to the south, and with a height difference between both roads of nearly 1 full storey. The design makes the most of these challenges by providing vehicular and pedestrian access from Freeman road down to the parking levels through a vehicular ramp, while the pedestrian entry is through a sculptural bridge that spans over a Council Stormwater easement, providing a bespoke sense of arrival to the entry foyer at ground floor. The common areas are in this level enjoying direct contact with the lush landscape and the BBQ area. Roof overhangs, balconies, and movable screens provide sun shading protection and add to the design distinctive features which are not only functional but provide an aesthetic intent that resulted in a contemporary expression that is in harmony with the streetscape and its surroundings.
